Target is Finally Getting the Recognition it Deserves

Finally, after years of supporting Target and knowing about their social responsibility, they are promoting an event with the Food Bank that will support the Chicago Food Bank and also promote their new GPS system, which I am psyched about!

Ever since I was a kid I knew what Target was and where it stood in my heart and household. Originally hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, which also happens to be the birthplace and headquarters of the Target Corporation, I have been obsessed with the company ever since I walked through the doors of that magical store.

When I was a young child, I remember going to Target with my mom and siblings. The employees, products, and store layout made it an inviting and fun atmosphere. It was always so convenient and easy for those moms on the go, the loud children who were only interested in the toy section, and most importantly, it was a place for Dad’s who had no escape except for the technology and furniture aisles.

Since become a national retail chain in the 1980’s, Target has expanded geographically and has gained the love and support of many loyal customers throughout the North American region, also providing its retail perfection for those in Canada.

Anyways, the reason for my excitement and the will to write this blog post was for the fact that Target is finally being recognized for it’s social responsibility.

As a company, Target is very successful but what most people do not know is that every week, Target donates a large portion of its earnings to various and important charities. Usually this philanthropic side of Target is rarely seen but this winter season, they are doing it a bit differently.

Currently living in Chicago, I barely have any apartment space and my surroundings lack the natural appeal that Minnesota has. But when there is a Target store nearby, I feel much closer to home.

I think that this event will be very important for not only the Chicago community, but for the reputation of the Target Corporation. It is about time that this fabulous company is recognized for their efforts and support for the Chicago community. Of course there are hundreds of thousands of Targets across the nation but when a huge company can pinpoint a few Superstores and collaborate a significant event, such as this with the local Food Banks, this company must be seen and heard for their charitable efforts.

If you guys happen to feel the same way about Target or have an interesting story about this company, please feel free to share!

Sincerely,

Tommy
